Vacation

OK, I'm finally getting around to this.

Paraphrased from my P&P journal

Day 1
Teartaye was up until 5:00AM having panic attacks. Woke up at 9 for a shower. Confessed to Mother about panic attacks. Mother gave Teartaye drugs. Teartaye is much fonder of Mother now.

Dropped Phantom off at the kennel. He didn't seem to like it. Terrified actually. I don't like it.
Nuke has been a pain - as always.
Just saw some goats eating on the side of the road.

Day 2
I slept all day today. Shower has two temperatures, cool and "FUCKTHAT'SHOT!!!" It also doesn't have any water pressure. So, basically, it's like every other shower I've ever been in in a hotel/motel/cabin/etc.

Nuke had issues with the water-trampoline. Cue temper-tantrum and meltdown. And of course he broke it too.
There is five other "teens" here. They're all related (2-3 sisters, brother- 1-2 sister(s) and then they're cousins)

Day 3
The toaster in the cabin is the long-lost cousin to the oven from hell (I don't think anyone on here knows that story... comment if interested). Either that or the bagels we brought are Magical Bagels and can go from regular to burnt-to-a-crisp in 30 seconds.

Played chess with Dad on my rainbow-chess set. Tried to use his horse. He wouldn't let me. :( Apparently you have to be /awake/ if the pieces aren't black/white.
Nuke undid the plugs from the water air-mattress while it was still in
the lake. Those things weigh a lot when they're full of water.

Day 4
I did nothing today. Normal, routine day things. Played Crib. Did some Sudokus. Laid out on the water on the dock and star gazed.

Oh yeah, they have a chess board here that's the width of a picnic table squared with pieces that are about 6-12 inches tall. They're hollow plastic. Really cool. Played a game with Nuke. Beat the little shit good.

Day 5
Went swimming today. Saw some ducks. Got all excited. Ducks decided they liked me and left me their mites.
Teartaye is itchy.

Told ghost stories around the campfire, then snuck into the teen's cabin. Had some interesting intellectual conversations.
I'm worried about Phantom.

Day 6
Spent the day reading by the water.
Hung out with four of the teenagers. Vicky (had a cyan 'hawk), Steven, Alexandra (really smart, youngest) and Sandra (I think she's really introverted but I could be wrong). Elizabeth had to go home for work.
Made "Spider dogs" and drank Creme. If they made pop like that in Alberta I think I'd ditch my water. Nummy.
Stargazed again. Apparently I'm really good at finding things with binoculars.

Day 7
Slept and packed today.
Nuke insisted on fireworks.
Yeah.

Day 8
Fought with Nuke during the car ride home. Phantom stinks. Good to be home.

And Phantom's surgery went well. Theoretically he is now deaf, though he doesn't really act it. I think he just reads body language really well. He seems happier. He has a bald ear now though. It looks funny.
