I don't like to attribute it to the accident but Gale seems happier and more open since then so it may well be that many bad memories were erased - although I can't recommend we be knocked unconscious to hope for the same result *smiles and hugs*

radio interview

Did you hear his radio interview during the Orpheus play? He talks about how hard it was for him to deal with fans and not knowing if they were really talking to him or (the character). He went on to say that it would have been easier if he'd not been a "paranoid jerk." I'd say that if not the accident, then maybe the support he had afterward, made him think about things differently. As with any other life experience, it would have been too bad if he didn't gain some understanding and growth from it.

I must have listened to the radio interview since I know I saved it but my problem is that I forget far too many details (due to chemo brain cell deletion). I'm glad I have friends to remind me (although I kind of feel sad that Gale referred to himself as that, especially since he has nothing on some celebrities that get millions for being real assholes) ♥
