So I was reading though the most recent post on PostSecret, and came across this little piece:

I'm 42 and I think of the people I know their age at least 1/3 are older than I am.

Also, there were comments here about whether it's someone people know but I mean I'm not saying any of us wouldn't be embarrassed if people in RL found out but that just comes across as if it's a bad thing and most people I know don't especially feel bad about it. :P

*nods* I know lots of people in fandom over 40.

I do know some people that keep fandom a complete secret from anyone IRL. It's like their escape and they would never even think of telling anyone. But yeah, I think a majority of us wouldn't feel terrible if it got out.
