That happened to me a couple years ago... on a cold, foggy night, on my way home from work. I made it about 20 miles before everything finally gave out. I started losing a lot of different things well before the car finally quit. :/
happened to my little honda civic a couple years ago. I actually drove it for two more days while I was trying to arrange for service while I was working in a strange city. Then it died on the way to work. Ended up towing it to a honda dealer who, knowing they had me over a barrel, replaced the alternator, battery, and half a dozen other parts that probably didn't need replacing. It would have been cheaper to have taken the day off of work (losing the day's pay) and having it done at the shop near where I was living. Ah well... LEsson there, sometimes you just have to take the hit to avoid taking a bigger hit later.
Yuck, sounds like a pain in the butt. But at least you got it taken care of so you won't have those problems in the future. That's one way to look at it.
Well, I bought a big can of pie filling on the way home from work tonight. TOmorrow, after I have pancakes for breckfast, out comes the pie making materials. Maybe I'll even take the trouble to hammer out some geisler pies. (these are square pies, so named after she ranted in my hearing about pie are not square, pie are round. ) So, after I finish shoveling snow, the pies should be ready to come out of the oven. Hot strawberry pie interest you?
Sorry, I don't like cherries. I really wanted blueberry, but they were out of that. *shrugs* I didn't end up making them anyway, as by the time I was finished moving the snow, I was tired and sore, and the thought of rolling out pie crusts was just too painful to contemplate. Maybe this weekend.
