Well, I made a rant the other year about how I hate the get out the vote campaigns.

I know I'm in a minority in this opinion, but I think if you don't know what you're doing or what's going on, don't vote! His reply was, "techempage you follow these races closer than anyone. You fit what you say. Why the hell aren't you voting?"

Me: ~shrugs~ Just never wanted to deal with it. Time, hassle, yadda yadda.

He made sure I had no excuses this time. ;)

That said, I'm entirely fascinated with the process. I'm actually more interested in the meta picture than the issues at times. How they win and lose, what helps and what hurts their campaigns. How they pull in different demographics. What makes them appeal to demographics they "normally" wouldn't get. ~chuckles~ Kinda like a football game, how to break holes in the defense, exploit weaknesses (whether going negative or just pushing issues the opponent is weak on), playing offense that is your strong suit or changing your game in an attempt to beat your opponent.

Yea I think I'm pretty much the same way once I make up my mind who I am voting for. It is like a sport, but the outcome is far more important than who won the ball game. I'm just glad you voted.

YAY!

This was my first time voting in a presidential election. I voted in some minor election in my hometown right after I turned 18.

O,O

you heathens! lol I've voted at every presidential election and a couple of local ones, since I turned 18 (so this will be my 3rd presidential election.) And stayed up all night waiting for results - and booing and cursing and so forth.
