Think: If you move next to mitsuwa, would you have money to spend at mitsuwa?

That is tempting. I pay about that much with utilities right now in Normal.

lol, I could make a Mitsuwa budget jar? Throw my change in there or something. ^_^ I hate that I basically have to decide by Sunday (it's the end of the leasing season). T.T

$621/mo for a single including water and heating (and internet?) is a pretty damn good deal. you'd be hard-pressed to find better.

also, isn't it closer to your current job than where you're living now? so it should save you some time and cash on that side too.

Well, it's actually about 3 mninutes farther from work. . . but since I live 5 minutes from work anyway, I don't think that's a problem! Internet is not included, but they do have a free internet spot in the main office place. Plus I might be able to leech some wi-fi. Or use my iphone to rig up a connection.

The only real nail-biter is the fact I only make about 1200 a month. And I have credit card debt.

On the other hand . . . Mitsuwa and living on my own. . .

You can see why this is a hard decision!

Hey, so it's past Sunday so you already decided.

But just as my own thoughts...

You don't want to get yourself in a situation where you overspend. Ideally, you don't want to pay any more than 1/3 your salary on rent, because even if utilities are included, then other things can still come up. Or what if there's an issue at work or they increase the rent? It just sucks to get stuck in a place that you ultimately can't afford. And if you have to leave your lease early, you often get dinged somehow.

That being said, it sounds like it's probably a cool place. You may be better off saving money at home/ paying off credit card debt until spring when you can maybe get something that's better for your situation. But if you already rented the place, then as long as you don't have a lot of additional expenses you should probably be good. Try to save up extra money each month if you can, even if it's a little bit at a time, so you have something to fall back on in case something happens.

Out of curiosity, how big is the apartment?

I decided not to move yet and to save up some money first, but I like advice anyway! It costs so much to live around here (Chicago suburbs) that I'm probably going to have to go the roommate route, but it was a very tempting deal!

The apartment was 635 square feet, Not huge, but I don't need much. ^_^
