lol, paid professional geek, hah! nice to meet you. thanks for the info.

the trickster in me has come out lately. I've repressed it. I've heard of Celtic pagan, and i know where you can get good Torques/Celtic jewelry of the (western) European Spanish kind. Galicia to be precise,

i don't see anything wrong with using wikipedia tons, or any other encyclopedia for that matter.

which reminds me, last night i had a weird dream: i was telling somebody about something [basic] I knew via wikipedia, but that wasn't a "good enough" source for them, so I went to look it up in a paper encyclopedia.

oooh.. cool, anybody like Thai food?

I can cook a variety of international dishes. including Pad thai and other stuff that I replicate very well from getting stuff in restaurants.

certainly cuts back on spending cash somewhat.

I smell another BBQ - got one going on right now that I'm going to get back to.

I don't think that using online resources is what defines 'technopagan' - by that definition, a great many - possibly the majority, especially in America - of Pagans under the age of 40 are 'technopagan'. I certainly think it's got nothing to do with an ability to 'blend into the rest of the population'. I've seen technopagans that certainly don't blend in at all.

I think that the definition of technopagan is using technology as an active part of your pagan practices and/or beliefs. It's not just using wikipedia to look stuff up, it's using it as a divination tool.

i consider study as a part of my practice, so wikipedia "just to look stuff up" certainly counts, same as going over mystical texts with a fine tooth comb

Well, yes, but it's not specifically technopagan, any more than organising moots over email is - unless, that is, you're using it in a specifically technopagan /way/.

What I'm trying to say here is that internet resources are just common resources now. All manner of Pagans use them, without feeling that technology is a part of their belief or practices. Being technopagan is more than just using the internets and having a computer.

hmm... because I feel that technology is part of me as in "using brain as primary loci for focus" rather than candle which enhances focus.

power of the mind over power of the athame that you may cut yourself on, which you can find online.

power means having the ability to do the mojo anytime, anywhere, keeping yourself centered, focused and withit. that's pretty much my definition of technopagan but take what you will.

maybe moon phases have something to it. I just don't often want to wait to work a ritual before then. I tweak things tons because tweaking is an option in the pagan way I suppose. I don't know to call it faith, religion or what to call it.
