...printers are another story. Occasionally software issues pop up, but they're usually printer related too. I suspect it's a function of the fact that our business is based around our printers (and there are more than 2 printers per person in the house, so it's likely that they're all just jealous *grin*).
Of course, the one week from hell, we had a RAID card go bad, taking two hard drives with it, at a point where the person responsible for back-ups hadn't been, and we had 3 or 4 other massive computer failures at the same time...when it goes, it *all* goes, and in a bad way.
Practically no computer problems when I was running windows, tho I spent far too much of my time making sure my various lines of defense were up to date and running them. Now that I exclusively run linux, I spent pretty much no time at all doing preventative measures to avoid spy/adware, viruses, etc. I do spend a good bit of time trying to make things work properly, but, it's still less time than I spent doing maintanence stuff on windows. I've recently had linux start complaining about the health of a number of my hard drives, although the drives still read and write fine. So I pulled the drives, made them external, and made sure nothing crucial was on them. Also some hardware problems lately, with brand new hardware, that all ended in said hardware being RMAed.
I notice that sometimes if I am stressed and working at the computer (typing up last minute essays or working on deadlines) that all sorts of random errors occur. Also, other electrical things in the house will go haywire at such times (lightbulbs popping--and a lighbulb even fell out of the socket once!)

No real problems, other than a firewall that's getting up in years and could use switched out for a faster machine. My machines, once they settle down, which usually takes a day or so, tend to run for months on end, barring power failure and the UPS running out of charge. The Linux boxen are pretty static, save for my primary workstation/shell box/file server. It took me a little while to get used to NetBSD but I've been running it on my backup laptop/ritual box for a few months now without any real problems. I haven't booted the 2k bitchbox since I moved, so I don't know how it's holding up.
