It strikes me as odd.

What? You talkin' to me?

Oh I was just making a post to the D-comm system, you see it strikes me as odd that the Digital World calender is designed the same way as that of earth. You'd think I'd have noticed sooner but it took me an entire year living here to realize it.

what's so odd about that? Well...it's not just that ( Read more... )

... the idea of space travel still weirds me out.

It really isn't that difficult to grasp, after all it's rather like air travel just...without gravity weighing you down.

But... there's nothing out there...

Not true! There are millions of planets, and peculiar anomalies out there!

When you look upon the stars at night what you are actually seeing is suns! Just like our sun those suns have planets around them!

Third apocalypse?

How'd that happen? Was it robots?

That was the second Apocalypse, the first was zombies and the third was a portal to hell opening and overcoming the planet. Luckly by then enough humans had escaped to space that they could come back and reclaim the planet.

After that however the ecosystem of the planet was so thrashed it had to be repaired and maintained artificially.

I think you really would have enjoyed the video and text book images of the Robot Apocalypse. The entire planet became autonomous and mecha. It was before I was born though.

Oh man, robots shouldn't be beaten out by something stupid like hell. Robots in your world sound like they suck.

Heh, and it all comes down to them needing machines to do that for 'em too.

Maybe, dunno. And too bad, I bet you would'a liked it, with how you are with us 'bots here.

It is amusing how technology has become so much ingrained in culture that it cannot truly be escaped by most civilized races.

And I'm not so sure I'd have enjoyed the Robo world...they would have murdered me and used my parts for fuel.

Isn't the apocalypse suppose to be the big end? How can there be three of them?

techsavytabby February 28 2010, 22:08:41 UTC
Well in a manner of speaking each of those events was the end of all the humans living on that planet at the time...there were just humans left in space to keep the species alive and retake the planet...with some help from other species.

Hmmm, I'll I'll keep that in mind. Putting all that work into taking the planet only to have a few humans take it back would big waste.

Indeed. One of the reoccurring problems with world domination is that maintaining control over an entire planet is alot of work.

Three apocalypses?! What happened? Where were the HSATs at the time to let that happen?!

Reply

techsavytabby March 1 2010, 04:29:29 UTC
Um...well the first one was Zombies, the second was a robot uprising and the third was the opening of a portal to hell...my research doesn't show any indications of HSAT like beings except in the robot apocalypse but they were rather anti-human.

But, but, I wouldn't turn on humans... Why would they do so...

Hrmp, simple prototype. The machines figured out just how worthless biologicals are.

How do you have three apocalypses...apocalypsi?

Reply

techsavytabby March 2 2010, 23:46:42 UTC
Well after the destruction of all life on a planet...if you clear off what caused the Apocalypse...and repopulate the planet for a few hundred years you're primed and ready for the next one.
