*The engineer goes into the workshop and settles onto his favourite chair, bringing a datapad out of subspace. He connects the pad to his computer terminal and transfers the last cycle or so worth of notes to the main system before 'spacing the pad once again.*
Hmm, let's see... time to catch up on a few things.
Get final approval from Ratchet for Kali's alt-mode design and schedule the procedure.
Well, I left that pad with Ratchet, so now all I have to do there is wait on him to get back to me on it.
Schedule time with RedRum to discuss her alt-mode.
Talk to Skyfall about her antics; maybe try to get her to calm down a little before she puts Red off-line permanently.
Check on the progress of my robocats and the rodent problem.
Hmm, why not do that now, while I'm thinking about it....
*Wheeljack clears the screen, and brings up the monitoring program for the robocats. Once it loads, he toggles for the movement history for all the robocats, then leans back to study the results. As soon as he leans back, he looks down to see that one of them has jumped into his lap and curled up, clearly intending to go off-line right then and there.*
Well, hello there... let's see, you're Fancy-Fancy, aren't you?
*The engineer chuckled softly and turned his attention back to the screen. As he studied the roaming patterns of the other catbots, he made adjustments to their individual programs to encourage them to move into other areas of the Ark. Those that he noticed were staying near the quarters areas he left alone, figuring they'd provide excellent, overlapping coverage for that area so his fellow Autobots wouldn't be bothered by rodents.*
*One tracer in particular caught his attention. Raising an optic ridge, he pulled the data up on that particular robocat and took a closer look. It seemed that P4-15 'Lucifer' hadn't moved in the last few solar cycles.*
Sorry, Fancy-Fancy, but you'll have to find another place to be off-line for a while, 'cause I've gotta go check on one of your littermates. At least it's not too far away, so it shouldn't take that long to do.
*Wheeljack carefully picked up the powered-down catbot and laid it gently on the floor under a tool stand before walking out of the lab.
Once outside, he looked around and resolved once again to get outside more often. However, that thought was quickly relegated to a backup file as he approached the place where his missing robocat should be. After a quick glance and not seeing it, he un'spaced a scanner and began examining the area.
It wasn't long until he found the hidden tracker. Optic ridges narrowed in thought, the engineer left things exactly as he'd found them and returned to the Ark, being careful to cover the tracks he'd made along the way.*
...oO( All right, someone's playing games here, but I don't know who it is. At least not yet. I'll just keep an eye on things for now and see what develops.)Oo...
*Once back in the workshop, Wheeljack did a bit of programming that would send him a private alert once P4-15's tracker started moving again.*
That's done... what else was there? Oh, that's right...
Run sewer line under the Ark.
Did that a long time ago when I set up quarters for our human friends. I'm startin' to think that Prime needs to get himself up to date on what's going on around here.
