Wow 2 years since last post

I keep forgetting LiveJournal exists.  Then I get an email stating that some one that's not a member tried to post spam.   On a medical leave of absence from tech support right now, though when I was last doing it it was more of techsupporting the customer instead of the equipment (complaint management where I'd have to tell people "Yes, you are ( Read more... )

Yeah. Most people seem to have (all but) forgotten that LJ exists.

Vast majority of people I used to follow / converse with here have moved to a different social media platform. And while it's kind of nice that most of them chose the same platform to move to, I really wish they would have chosen a different one.

It's funny how many (including myself) complain about said social media but since everyone is there no one stops using it. Tried google+ but it's clumsy and no one uses it. Twitter seems more for people to announce things than discourse. Imgur and flickr are more image oriented...

Ditto. But for anything I'm gonna post, if I care about (certain) people seeing it, I've gotta post it elsewhere.

Been planning on setting up a privately hosted blog with a cross-posting thingus, but it's not the top item on my PriQ.

Still here as well for the most part, although I'm starting to toe the 'burnout' line pretty hard on my stress indicators at work.

Yeah I went past the burn out line. It wasn't pretty, then fate stepped in with a third party. Good times.

I've been trying desperately to avoid that; so far my efforts have been partly successful. (I.E., still breathing and not in jail for murder.)

I've managed to pick up a new and (slightly expensive) hobby along the way in the form of a 3-d printer, which is more relaxing than I initially thought.

I finally have a new job with actual hours! It's a theoretically non-technical role. I'm the minion to a User Experience department, and expected to schedule research participants and manage calendars and such. In practice, it turned very quickly into "Azz, my email isn't working right, can you file a bug?" (as we were *dogfooding an ever-loving email system*) and "Azz, the helpdesk software is broken, I can't file any bugs..."

Currently the engineers keep reminding me to not break the poor helpdesk guys, not even if putting a 1200px long link into the help form has goatse'd the Further Comments area so badly that the Submit button is 600px off to the side and there's no scrollbar to get to it. Also I'm not supposed to use "goatse'd" as a verb at work.

Thank you. I picked it up on the occasion of various LiveJournal staff bailing from the site.
