Even those of us who consider ourselves Democrats can have that problem. Obama isn't pro-gay marriage or anti-death penalty like me. I guess in the end, you end up selecting the person who shares the views you consider to be the most important, and hope that their generally good judgment makes up for the areas where you disagree.

As they say... The lesser of two evils is still evil. I didn't particularly want to vote for Obama (I was a pro-Hillary girl), but honestly... the alternative is just scary. (I mean... Seriously... Sarah Palin...?) At the point in time they were running against each other I was frustrated that Obama seemed to have great buzz-word speeches but didn't really say much. I think that he's done well in the debates though. I disagree with a lot of things that Obama supports, I'm also pro-gay marriage and have a different perspective on drugs and punishment vs. treatment options for drug users.

Sometimes you just have to vote partisan too, if you think that the party has the best overall policy, but maybe the leader isn't great, you have to keep in mind that they will have a whole slew of advisers... and on top of that would be kept in check by the other branches.

Personally... I'm ready for this election business to be over... :)
