So. The Oscars. I didn't actually get to see any of it, because Sky won't sell the rights to our paltry terrestrial TV channels (although the first thing I did when I got home today was look at the 'best' and 'worst' dresses on the AOL homepage. That probably makes me a very sad and shallow human being, but nevermind. I like to pick at the dress

You know, it's sad, because they had the costume designers on stage, and you could see all their gowns wonderfully clear. I just had no idea which one was Alex Byrne, because I'm dumb like that. What did the skirt look like? (Was it the dark one with all the crystals?)

Alex Byrne was the tall, slim one with dark curly hair (although I'm not sure what Sandy Powell or Colleen Atwood look like - knowing my luck, they probably all look identical!). She was wearing a black lace top, and the skirt was also black (although sadly without crystals); velvet underneath with a satin drapey thing over the top. Very Vivienne Westwood.
