My day in numbers.
  • 3000 - cost in pounds sterling of the tulle ballgown skirt I made and then nearly melted.
  • 500+VAT - cost in pounds sterling of item I have just won from Ebay if purchased new
  • 241 - cost in pounds sterling of item I have won from Ebay! (note - I think there's only one person on my friendslist who would be remotely impressed with ( Read more... )

a 1950s/60s K&L tailor's mannequin. It's exactly the same sort my boss started out with, and she taught herself how to cut and drape on the stand from scratch and OMG her costumes are the best EVAH! The 1950s/60s shape is apparantly a really good one to cut on because it's the shape people wish they were, so if you pad the stand out to their measurements you can cut a really flattering dress that fits well.

So, yeah. It's a lot of money, but it's an investment.
