Since late February, a pair of cardinals has been visiting our backyard. And today we noticed a baby with them! I was pretty excited, so I am posting a couple pictures here.

My favorite things about cardinals are their color and their beak. I recognize their song now and find it comforting. Earlier this spring we had a Carolina Wren who would perch in a tree near our window and sing duets in the wee-hours of the morning. I felt privileged to hear it.
