...hummingbird, yes we've spotted our first hummingbird. On Monday we put up a hummingbird feeder, and volia on Saturday morning we saw a hummer floating around it. I was delighted. It made my weekend. As part of my excitement I am posting some pictures of the visitors here. They are ruby-throated hummingbirds

Well, I would certainly recommend it. On the west coast, Anna’s humminbirds are around for the whole year. I am still a bit in awe that they are attracted by the smell of the sugar water. Apparently they are easily familiarized with a human presence and have been known to feed while someone is holding the feeder or just under it.
