Have you looked into EVP? Take a digital voice recorder and place it in a room and leave it there for a period of time while youre there or out. I cant remember the program but theres some out there that can analyze and play the stuff back. Do a search on EVP analyzer or something like that.

Ive heard of EVP work, I'm really into that ghost hunting stuff, but I would be too scared to even try that...lmao, I dont wanna hear anything creepy in my room x_x lol
