So I was sleeping peacefully when around 10:30 (yes I was still asleep, I try to avoid waking before 11:30...) I get a phone call from my mother. (For those of you who remember the baby Raccoon incident, this might sound a little familiar....) It went a little like this

Personally, I think your cat and your guinea pig break out at night and spread the word that you're giving away food.

I know that's what happens at my parents house. Everytime we adopt out one of our outside cats to a home a new one or two show up. They've got three new ones since we took Gremalkin in.

Ferrets are cool. They can bend like you wouldn't believe. You know this. They also are related to skunks. Musk...mmmm. One of the summers I worked at the zoo I had to put away the ferrets. Once I carried five of them across the Children's zoo all at once. That was fun. Suggest to doug that if you can't get a ferret, maybe he'd be more interested in a pot-bellied pig, or a lemur.

I suggested a lemur to doug. He gave me a mean look.

Apparently one of the guys doug works with is also animal crazy, and has lizards that run loose in his apartment. I wonder how that works. I'd be afraid to step on one.
