With Sherlock, ‘interesting’ always means ‘dangerous’.
LOL. Yes, yes it does.
“Of course,” John continues, “I’ve yet to fully integrate the concept of washing up, but then you are a work in progress.”
“Really?”
“Yep. Where would you be without me?”
AW! So cute, and so true, and so awkward. I'm so happy to see more moments of them pushing the boundaries between friends and more than friends. They both know their relationship is something special, but I like how you're playing up what that is. No one knows, and they don't really feel the need to discover it at the moment.
“John, you’re brilliant!”
I love when Sherlock compliments John. Even though he does it often, it's always heartfelt and organic. And I can just picture Benny saying it so so so well.
“Sherlock,” he says, “Sherlock, it’s Leet Speak.”*reader spits out her water* OMG SO FUNNY. Of course Sherlock would have no idea ( ... )

Also, I love that John can sometimes trump Sherlock with common knowledge. Go John! Hee. Oh, and how you write their developing relationship is fantastic.

And I'm glad you miss Mary a bit ;) But she definitely would make an awesome ninja! She's too good to be shaken off so easily.
John Watson: proving Sherlock's hard drive brain theory as useless, one trivial pursuit question at a time! I imagine John makes Sherlock human, and those random bits of knowledge are like little tidbits of evidence that regular people and regular life exists. I once read that John stands as a perfect example of the England and the morality and humanity Sherlock works to protect, and loved that idea.
Nothing strengthens bonds like an international manhunt while basically fugitives! I'm really glad you think the two are working out well though! Thank you very much again!

This story is such a joy. It has everything - a big epic romp through Europe, thick, wonderful plotting and carefully understated emotional descriptions.

And wow, that is an amazingly flattering compliment! I'm really quite thrilled that you're enjoying the romp with the boys and that I'm managing to fit it all in satisfactorily! So thank you very, very much! :)

I just want to say "ditto" to most of the admiring comments on here, actually.
And I recognised the looking-out-of-the-train-window moment for its awesome. If I think for a few days I'll remember which story that's from...
I've wondered on and off how this new incarnation of Sherlock would handle the rose speech from Naval Treaty.
Reply
And yep, the train speech is definitely canon based! If you're stuck, I think I posted it at the top, but I won't give it away here ;)
That rose bit is tricky though isn't it? It's already so elegant and precise...It'd be hard to change...Though definitely not impossible!

I love how Sherlock is always dressing his emotional responses up as being logic driven. And of course Sherlock had nothing to worry about with Mary and John. Obviously. *sniff*
Also, good one there with the l33t 5p34k. Of course Sherlock wouldn't have immediately seen it right away--he has more important things on his mind.
I'm loving this, so more, pretty please??

And we all know and agree Sherlock is entirely logic driven. No emotional motivation at all. Ever. Hehehe, poor guy. He can be so...clueless. But he has managed to nip the John/Mary thing in the bud, hasn't he?

Also, their banter on the plane and train amused me *g*.
