Anyone who has read this journal knows how much I loved the late governor of Texas, Ann Richards.  She was an amazing woman, and a brilliant and progressive governor, and Texas was so lucky to have her, even if too few of the voters realized it ( Read more... )

She was one of a kind! I had the opportunity to interview her for The Sealy News when she was running for governor. She had the clearest blue eyes and a manner about her that I adored. Her popularity was at its highest when she lost to George W. Bush. Karl Rove put out a smear campaign to end all smear campaigns against her and sadly, it worked.

I saw the show in The Kennedy Center in one of its previews. She does a terrific Anne Richards and the play is both funny and poignant. I hope you get to see it.
