I have pretty much planned our NC trip and it is a long and fun filled trip and he didnt bat an eye. And I've STILL not seen most of the midland counties. I ended up in Maynooth for a weekend, but that's still Dublin suburbia nearly. And driving through Abbeyleix ten thousand times doesn't count. And, ok, I was in Clonmel (my housemate Liam would actually kill me if I didn't give a shout out to his home). But I maintain--stick to the edges, it's more interesting.

Exactly! I have driven through the midland counties multiple times trying to get to the various parts of the edges and none of it made me want to go out for a day trip. Beautiful country, beautiful land and I am sure would be fascinating since it is more...true Irish in the sense that it hasn't become a huge tourist trap. I just see the midland counties as a great place to stay for a week if you know someone there..that way you can really experience everything. I think if you just showed up you wouldnt get the full experience.

I miss you girl! I wish Cali was a day trip :( I always think of you as I am packing for these things as you were my partner in crime in multiple weekend trips in Ireland.
