August has been hard so far

I have thought about blogging but never quite got around. It is hard to figure out what to say and what not to say sometimes. If things are tough you dont want to create a pity party for yourself and when things are going well you dont want to sound like you are gloating and showing off because you dont want your readers to feel bad if they aren't ( Read more... )

Although I can't say I'm with you on the no-debt boat (woooooh, $50K in college loans!), here are my recommendations:

Money Under 30
LearnVest
Daily Worth (Specifically directed at women; I really enjoy their daily email... sometimes it's not relevant, but sometimes very interesting and useful)
Personal Finance Reader (a huge list of different PF blogs to comb through)

Also, my all-time favourite blog is Chookooloonks. It's written by Karen Walrond, a Trinidadian women who lives in Texas. She's a former lawyer turned professional artist/photographer/writer. She's just so smart, and zen, and funny, and optimistic. Check it out.

If you need to kick-start your brain, check out Sociological Images, or Racialicious for pop-culture/race intersection. Or ask me for recs for any of the other ten bazillion blogs I find myself sucked into reading.

Love! Hope you work your way out of this funk soon, dear!

Brian feels you for the student loans. I have no idea at this point how much he owes for undergrad and we havent even started Grad yet. I am one of the lucky ducks that got away scott free from student loans. I can empathize...I dont know what I would do if I actually had them to pay back.

Thanks for the blog suggestions! I will certainly check them out. I do think I need a change in what blogs I do read since I tend to read them of people, that in my eyes, have the perfect life which doesnt really help me any :-\
