No change

Why doesn't the vet realise that just because he's bright doesn't mean it's good news?!  We could look after him here and keep him happy!  They don't seem to think it's important because he's happy. .....I can't afford for them to "observe" him any longer.....they need to get on with doing x-rays now....giving him injections. .....they're going to ( Read more... )

I'm sorry that it's gone so wrong with no obvious explanation of what's happened. It is still early days if he injured himself en route but I think I'd also be wanting X-rays by now if he isn't improving on Metacam and with rest. What is Julia's view of all this...??

I haven't updated Julia yet....as there's nothing to update with, but she said he was fine before the journey.

If nothing gets better then what do I do? Get him a little wheelchair? A ramp up to his litter tray? Daily baths? What kind of life does a paralysed rabbit have in the longterm? Could he even be bonded with Ruby? I let her say hello through the bars and she was so happy. ended up flopping right next to him.

I think it's a bit premature to be having those thoughts. Let's hope that whatever's happened will heal. Try to think positive - look at Carla who spent 5 days like a limp rag, flopped with no muscle tone and barely breathing then made a full recovery with no treatment other than rest and supportive care.

I know I shouldn't think about it....but it's hard not to.

At least he's happy.

(How's Bruno doing?)

Karen is right, do not despair, allow time for Eddie and await the results of all examinations that the vet will do. The warmth of recent days was not favorable for the buns, there is always hope, it may take some time.
For 26 years our 2foots have buns and sometimes they had to deal with difficult and desperate cases, and they were surprised because sometimes they are beaten and have even surprised the vets, they always keep hope. So brave! we think about you,we send many many good vibes!

I hope Eddie shows signs of improvement soon and that they let you nurse him at home.

Sending vibes,
