Thanks so much! It was a challenge to find music representative of the period (was that 66 years ago!) that had sound quality that was acceptable. Most of the "oldies" used here were recorded later when stereophnic sound came out in the late 1950's. And it was difficult to find a version of "My Melancholy Baby" that was upbeat like the version sung in Episode 12 - I bet I went through 15 or more before I found one that would work. The artwork was made from Hi-Def video screen captures - I made over 150 of them!
I know I really went out on a limb with some of these song choices - and I'm sure that some of these selections will not please everyone. But I felt that they fit the circumstances of the story. I love Sarah Brightman and was so happy to be able to use her songs in a fanmix for the first time! And I loved both versions of "A Nightingale Sang In Barkley Square". The upbeat version by Bobby Darin and the beautiful, romantic version by Vera Lynn, who is still alive at age 90!
Have you ever heard the Glenn Miller version? I always liked it for Jack, because they used so much Glenn Miller music when they introduced his character in Doctor Who.
I'm not sure if I have - but will look for that. I bet it is an instrumental version. All Glenn Miller music was really special - in a class by itself. I need to see more of Doctor Who - it has been a very long time!
Just a shot in the dark....you wouldnt happen to know where I can get a song called "Goodnight Wherever You Are"....either sung by Doris Day or Vera Lynn (I think Glen Miller also did a version). Looking for it for a fanmix I am putting together to go with my story.
Thanks for commenting! I checked and did not find "Goodnight Wherever You Are". That title sounds great! I will keep you in mind and will let you know if I locate it. Good luck with your writing!

And it took a while to find it! I uploaded it to sendspace, and copied your gmail account. Let me know if you didn't get that link. This was the only version I've found so far, and the artist is identified as Harry Leader. It is from the WWII era so it is monophonic, a 60+ year old recording. I am not able to identify the female vocalist. Although brief, it is very appealing and I see why you would want to use it. Here are the lyrics:
GOODNIGHT WHEREVER YOU ARE (Al Hoffman / Dick Robertson / Frank Weldon)
Doris Day
Also recorded by : Big Maybelle; Dorothy Collins; Johnny Desmond; Johnny Green; Harry Leader; Vera Lynn; Mary Martin; Glenn Miller Orch.; Russ Morgan & His Orch.; Rene Thomas.
Goodnight wherever you are May your dreams be pleasant dreams wherever you are If only one little wish that I wish comes true I know that the angels will watch over you
Goodnight wherever you are I'll be with you dear no matter how near or far With all my heart I pray everything is all right Wherever you are goodnight
Wow! Thanks so much for your comments - you made my day. And I couldn't agree more about their being a perfect couple. These two men together - they create state of enchantment. This is what romance is all about, isn't it?
*Blushes* Glad to know that your day was made by my comments...always happy to help put a smile on someone's face
Glad you like the icon. It's one of my favourites in my Jack/Jack icon collection and was made for me by the queen of Icon Makers in this fandom Jhava.
Agree with what you said about what romance is. It means different things for different people of course, but these guys have you wishing that they could be together forever
