I wanted to play without parents stopping me. I studied and practiced...and I got plenty of time to play when they were away or sleeping. Good job Ted, you'll be an awesome musician someday.

umm, in case you miss read... "play" in that quote was refering to the video game. "Practice" was refering to music.

so, unless you are using witty sarcasim, pointing out that getting motivation to practice from wanting to play video games uninterruptedly is absurd, then you misread it.

Especially since there is no way I could get away with practicing trumpet while people are sleeping, even with a harmon mute on.

well, not "you misread" but "I wasn't clear enough" or "you made an understandable mistake". You'd be surprised how a few words make a big difference in meaning online. Not that I'd think you'd be the overly-sensitive type, but I'm just keeping myself in check.

with 8 minutes to spare.

I admit played it ironman until the 10th level, then I started saving. And unlike nethack, saving isn't cheating, because it's a built in function and it's how it's meant to be played.

Although, to be really hardcore I should beat the whole thing ironman, that'd make me really cool... :-P jk jk
