Well, I finished it ages ago and sent it off to lots and lots of agents - none of whom had any interest in it. Which was probably fair enough - with the benefit of hindsight, it wasn't really ready to be sent out. So I've been giving it a major overhaul (restructuring it so it doesn't start with chapter after chapter of exposition, changing a few characters, toughening up the plot a bit etc etc). While I've been doing that I've been working on something completely new, and almost gave up on the first one. But since then the partner of a friend has been telling her agent about me and my book (she had a novel published last year which is just coming out in paperback), and they're keen to have a look. So now, after a few too many months of inactivity, I have to get back in the saddle and get cracking on my revisions so there's something readable to send out. So that's where we are at the moment.
(and it's good to see you - how are things with you these days?)
Well enough. I'm exploring New York and probably spending too much money as I wait for the initial Disneyland feeling to wear off, but I'm sure my tuition payments will cure me of that soon enough. I may be over your way in a couple of years, as I'm told my graduate program has lots of contacts in the UK.
