Hey man- I've been talking to some people I'm collaborating with about submitting to Top Shelf 2.0.... any thoughts on it? Is it worth it? If I understand correctly, they don't pay, but do you reach an audience you don't normally? Have any opportunities arisen because of it?
Well, I have had more exposure from it for sure, but I'm not 100% what it translates into. I have definitely had people follow links from my artist bio there, but not an astounding number.
I have no idea what the hits we are getting there are (I have never asked - I am pretty bad about caring about that sort of thing), but I am certain they are better than I get on my site and Glorious Bounty.
Also, we have built up a nice relationship with Leigh there, and hopefully when we're finally ready to pitch some stuff, the other guys will be at least aware of us...
In the end - I really like the association with Top Shelf, one of the best publishers out there, and I really like Leigh who deals with us - plus they just post a high calibre of work!
I actually have statcounter set up on Glorious Bounty, I just mostly don't look at it. I did just now when Ryan asked and saw that we had a higher number of visitors to last week's Glorious Bounty update than usual, so that was nice!
