Either people who design cars are limited to one child, or if they have two, they aren't allowed to have any friends. The Forester is marketed as a family-friendly car, but I just had to order a booster seat online because I couldn't find any other way to fit three kids in my backseat. Ah for the days when we used to stake 10 kids in the back of a station wagon, with the seats down, and drive to the mountains to pick apples....

I distinctly recall being one of four across in the rear a yellow 70-something Civic, riding in the way back of a VW bug, and sitting on the seatless floor of a CJ. Yes, it was definitely simpler for our parents.
