Busy day 'round here. I got up with the boys and dropped them off at their respective schools, then came home and called the hair place I go to about once a year to see if anyone was available to whack mine off. Either people who design cars are limited to one child, or if they have two, they aren't allowed to have any friends. The Forester is marketed as a family-friendly car, but I just had to order a booster seat online because I couldn't find any other way to fit three kids in my backseat. this is gonna be like vacation
J had his first day of pre-K yesterday. He seemed to have a decent time, although he said it was "boring." I suspect that had to do with the teachers' student assessment testing more than the everday experience will be for him, though. I really didn't need that tonight
We had a get-together this evening with some of the kids who're in J's pre-K class. They had a lot of fun, and we ironed out a lot of carpool-y/child-care details, which was a relief. He hasn't slept well for the last couple of nights, and he's been running a low-grade fever. Today I noticed him drooling, and he told me his mouth hurt while he was eating a cheese stick. We got a "Standards of Student Conduct: Elementary Students" handbook in the mail today. J isn't allowed to see it, because I am not about to explain what "Forcible Rape Against Student" means. I'm afraid to imagine what the high school book looks like. -
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?
I cut up a pineapple tonight. One thing I will say about both my children: if there is fresh fruit in the house, they will gobble it up. The Dude came in and said, "Whatcha doooin'?" Back in June I mentioned the fun I had ensuring that J would be enrolled in the correct pre-K program. I didn't mention it, but the woman I spoke to the first time (who had assured me that he was in the right program) called me back a week later to ask what program we wanted him in.
