Jan 10, 2014 23:47

Taken from lunalovepotter, who has also returned, to my utter delight! Yay, more awesome LJ people!

1. What did you do in 2013 that you had never done before?
Went on a date, got a full time job, wrote a dissertation, went to Latvia, performed in Edinburgh... huh, I did quite a lot last year, looking back on it.

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and did you make more for next year?
No idea, I can't remember them. This year's resolutions are fun, and mainly revolve around getting better at my Japanese and French cooking, and getting back my awesome hair that I used to have in Aus.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, not that I wasn't afraid of it every single day (mental illness is FUN!!!)

5. What countries did you visit?
Latvia! And Scotland. Did I go to France last year... yes I did! (I was thinking in real time there), and Belgium for a day... I think that's all of them.

6. What would you like to have in 2014 that you lacked in 2013?
A steampunk outfit!

7. What date in 2013 will remain etched in your memory, and why?
9/9/2013; the day my dissertation was due in. The day I should remember is the day I got my visa, but no.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting my current job, I think.

9. What was your biggest failure?
I don't think I had any major failures, really. My date not leading to anything more, maybe? But that wasn't my fault.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Mental illness. Lots and lots of mental illness.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Hmm... the wide assortment of LEGO, perhaps? Ooh, actually! My Doc Martens! I loves them.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Hmm... probably my coursemates, for sticking by me and being patient with me when I was too depressed to work properly.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
That jerk from Lost Prophets, probably. And my mother's, but with her it all linked very closely to boredom at her constant diet talk.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Groceries, LEGO, Magnolia jewellery, and train travel.

15. What did you get really, really excited about?
Getting my current job, getting my visa, and getting into the Edinburgh show.

16. What song will always remind you of 2013?
Wrecking Ball, probably.

17. Compared to this time last year (2012), are you:
a. Probably slightly happier, actually.
b. Thinner or fatter? The same.
c. Richer or poorer? Richer.

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Saving money, writing - yeah, I think lunalovepotter summed that up quite well. Also studying/uni work - I could have done much better than I did.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Sulking in bed. It's part of the course with mental illness, but still.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
With my parents and brother, then my other brother and grandparents too when they arrived on boxing day.

21. How did you spend New Year’s?
At Brentwood, at a scout camp, with all of the various light entertainers.

22. Did you fall in love in 2013?
I certainly fell in love with the idea of having the chance to fall in love. Alas, no.

23.How many one-night stands?
None

24.What was your favorite TV program?
Hmm... Vicious, or TMNT.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
Well I try not to hate, but there is one person I certainly do not consider to be my friend anymore.

26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
None really. I took the time to listen to a bit more Taylor Swift.

27. Favorite film?
Star Trek. Deffo. Thor was probably the better m

28. What did you want and get?
I was able to meet my new nephew on Christmas Eve, and spend some quality time with my brother and his family whom I haven’t seen in over a year.

29. What did you want and not get?
An interesting male friend. I could have gotten him... he just wasn't interesting.

30. What was your favorite live/stage experience of this year?
Thanks to Edinburgh I had many, and there was one lot, whose names I've now completely forgotten, but they were absolutely hysterical.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was definitely at work for part of it, and I'm pretty sure I was at uni too. I turned 24.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
That boy being more interesting. Or interesting at all. That would have been very satisfying indeed.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2013?
T-shirt and jeggings, except for work/interviews when I was in nice above-the-knee dresses with gorgeous eye makeup.

34. What kept you sane?
AJ, Jones, Dad, and the comedy shows/blogs/fics I read and re-read.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Ahh, probably good ol' Benedict Cumberbatch.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Probably immigration.

37.Whom did you miss?
My brother when he was in Aus, and various cats.

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2013
I learned that I have friends I can lean on for anything, and that is amazing.

meme, me
