Writer's Block: Old enough!?!

I think the minimum age for LJ and other social networking sites should be 18. There are too many predators out there to justify letting kids have their own accounts unsupervised. If a site chooses to let underage children on the site then there should age verification for adults so that inappropriate content can be hidden.

And that's great, but you are a kick ass parent if you ask me. Most parents are content to let their kid have free rein and on some of the social sites that can be extremely risky. Unsupervised children on adults sites is what worries me and there no way to make sure that parents are taking care of their kids.
