When I looked up this topic coprolite, one thing came to mind. Sometimes things that are amazing don't come in pretty packages. I would love to see tiny dinosaur bones but I bet that it wouldn't have survived being fossilized normally.  Sure theres the initial ick factor but that's true of most changes. You're very right that sometimes there is something very pleasant wrapped up in an icky package... My divorce could qualify as an example as well :P

Very true, in my life, have frequently found the bright shiny package to not be worth it, and the package I put off opening (the situation I dreaded) is the one that changes life for the better.
I also had car sick children, 2 out of 3, it made life hell. Also we have moved 14 times and have lived in 3 countries.
