I loved reading about this! My husband is a professional news photographer/cameraman/reporter and getting a good family photo is by far the most difficult assignment; we've given up and hire someone each year.I will post in my journal some of the outtakes; in ours, Newsguy is holding the baby right in his crotch area! Not sure how the pro missed it but it's in nearly every shot.

The photos you chose are beautiful and this will make a great series on the wall.

Baby in crotch doesn't sound as bad as tree through heads, unless baby in crotch really looks like BABY IN CROTCH! There is so much to remember with shooting in general, but shooting your own family is a hot mess!
