Hey Ladies, I have a dilemma, and if you could help me out, it would be most appreciated. Currently, I live with my parents, but I can see that arrangement steadily deteriorating because my mother is resenting me living there more and more. I was in the same situation, I lived with my parents till my son was almost 15 months old and I wanted to shoot myself. It is stressful on our parents to have a baby living in their house. My advice and this is what I did: apply for ANY kind of assistance you can get. Does the father help you out any? I applied for child support but it took almost a year and a half to get that rollin' but hey, the $360 a month helped me out a LOT (although, I couldn't depend on it). I also got on a waiting list for housing through the state - HUD and Section 8. I lived in HUD housing for a while - it wasn't that bad but if I were you - TRY to get on Section 8 ( you can live anywhere you want too as long as it is approved and they help you pay the rent). It might take a few months for your name to be at the top but it's worth it and it is someplace to live. I lived in a two bedroom house for $160 a month - I had to pay all my bills but I got discounted rates on my electric (paperwork to fill out there), phone bill, and cable. Apply for ( ... )
