I quit smoking a long time ago, but today was a rough day and I gave in ad smoked a couple cigarettes. The thing is, I'm still nursing. I changed my clothes afterward because I know that the babies can inhale the smoke from your clothes, but what about my milk? The stuff would transfer into your milk probably, but I don't think *personally* it's a big enough deal that I would give her pumped milk instead of putting her to the breast. Boobie_bootcamp is a great resource for all things lactation related for the new mom.

I remember reading about this someplace, but I can't remember where now. I don't think a couple of cigarettes are going to do any harm. I don't think very much nicotine will be transferred to your milk from just a couple of cigarettes.

just sharing...if i took some medication, or drank alcohol etc. 30 min later i would pump and dump the milk before feeding the baby...hopefully that would minimize the not so good stuffs being fed to the baby...i think i would apply the same if i were to smoke...you have such a beautiful girl :)
