So I realized that I never updated about my delivery or anything.
I was due on December 2nd, that day came and went, I ended up going to the hospital on December 9th at 10:00pm to begin the induction process. They put a teeny tiny pill on my cervix to help it start to thin out (I started at 1.5-2cm, 40-50% effaced) at 2am they checked me to see if I needed another dose, I was 3cm and 80% effaced, so they decided not to give me one. The nurse said they would wake me up around 5:30 to start the Pitocin. So I was awoken at 5:25 or so, got my IV started and begn the waiting process. Almost immediately I started having contractions, pretty mild ones. They started getting stronger but the monitor wasn't picking them up, so they gave me a button that I had to push when a contraction started and when it stopped. around 6:30 or so they were getting pretty strong and the machine still wasn't picking them up, so my dotor came in, broke my water (that was a groooooss feeling) and inserted an internal monitor. If you can avoid having one of those, that would be best I think. It didn't hurt to get it or have it in, but during the contractions, it was super annoying and uncomfortable to have that touching my cervix. It started getting really painful at about 8, I was going to have a natural birth but I couldn't picture being in that much pain for another 8 or 9 hours, so I asked for an epidural. At that time I also called my mom and had her come down to the hospital. She was going to go get my boyfriends mom a couple cities over and come to the hospital around 12 but instead she just came straight to the hospital. The doctor checked me and I was 6-7cm and 90% effaced. Around 8:40 I had a huge urge to push so my mom got the doctor, she checked me and said I was at 10, time to push! So after 12 minutes of pushing (Which wasn't too bad.. it made the contractions a LOT more bearable. Felt very good to push
:-p) I delivered my son Connor Riley, 7lbs 2.4ounces, 19" long. So I had a pretty easy labor, I was only in extreme pain for about an hour. Not bad at all. Here are some pictures too:
