Derek/Stiles AU

An AU where lycanthropy is recognized in society, but werewolves are being deprived of their rights.
Derek is a werewolf part of the protesting and riots. He and his family made up one of the radical werewolf rights groups, until his family was killed (Anon can decide if Kate was still the one who murdered them; maybe hunters are an extreme organization that want werewolves stripped of all rights) and now, in a desperate move to force the government's hand, Derek kidnaps a prominent anti-werewolf politician's son. Stiles.
Also up to Anon if they want to include the other characters, and how they would do so.

From the new position, Stiles was finally able to look at the werewolf fully, and a small wave of shock passed through him. He was frightening, but far younger than the hardened grizzly middle-aged werewolf Stiles had been suspecting

Oh damn, my poor bb stiles! I'm just really exited about this fill, also I wonder what Stiles' thoughts on the anti-werewolf laws are, did a rogue kill his mother? 'cause I think that would be one hell of a reason for papa stillinski to go into politics.
So looking forward to the next update so We can find out where Derek takes him and/if how he loses his shirt loL

you are correct about his mother's death, and it certainly was the motivation for papa stilinski to go into politics.
stiles is a little more logical in the sense that he knows the numbers prove the laws don't really do anything to reduce violence from werewolves (usually the result of improper precautions during the full-moon or the actions of a sick individual). but he is prejudiced like the rest of the public, having grown up associating all werewolves with murder, violence, and untrustworthiness.
& ty for your enthusiasm <3 i'm excited to write this, there is so much to work with.

I LOVE this so far, the prompt is really great and I can't wait to see where you're going with this. I love it when they're seriously on different sides to begin with.

He ordered a simple sandwich with fries, and went through a few cokes quickly while waiting. He didn’t even want to look at Derek, let alone talk to him any longer, so he purposely put his energy into drinking and eating to fill up the silence he wasn’t used to leaving open (because he always talked, didn’t he, babbled through broken bones and rejections from lydia like nothing could change him
