I feel conflicted. It's like I am being torn in two completely opposite directions at the same time. Every single aspect of my life seems to have this polarization. You know, and your post shows that you know.

We are what we choose to be. Choose to be happy, instead of content. Or, choose to be content. There is no wrong decision. Every road has flaws.

There's this line in Fight Club that I always loved, that now I shake my head at:

I say: let me never be complete.
I say: may I never be content.
I say: evolve, and let the chips fall where they may.

That doesn't quite summarize me any more, but I think it still rings very true for you.

I really don't see contentment on the charts for you, any more than I really see myself being able to desire utter bliss.

While I wholly believe we could be made to want those things, given the right circumstances, I don't necessarily think that sort of shift is a good thing.

The key lies somewhere between accepting what drives you and falling into some idea where it controls you.

If anything must change, then let it be fear. Fear runs this world, and I gather that it has probably been that way since we rose from the ranks of the apes. Fear is spiritual cancer, with only one holy and goode purpose: to be overcome.

Erasing fear from your life will very much lead you to the utter boredom of contentment, so, I reccomend that you ( ... )
