"Invisible Man" is slowly redeeming itself, maybe. I hope so. It's not hurting me, at least, at the moment. After chapter 16 was the worst time I can imagine to request a response -- I wrote a page of bitter invective [oooooogoodword] against [about? ok, so i can't actually use my goodword correctly, in context.] Our Hero, who doesn't know who he is [this is basically the point] or what he wants, is self-centered, takes no iniative at all, and wantonly threatens/visits violence upon random characters. Also the book reminds me of a lot of the things I don't like about "the shawshank redemption" [argue as you like], which are that the movie substitutes a narrator for acting and the book substitute phrases like "now i'm nervous" "now i'm scared" "now i think i'll just punch this guy" for any attempt to convey emotion or depth in the main character. They've had 500 pages! 500! [that i've read so far. 72 await me still.]

But I made cookies, in the time-that-i-thought-i-had because i failed to process the fleeting thought that starting the drama picnic at 7:00 would leave very little time, indeed, before dark. Also my internet died in the storm on Tuesday, and has only recently been revived. Cai'lin gets points for calling me when I failed to appear :)

So I arrived disgruntled-ly from reading Invisible Man and a certain plot twist occuring in the pages I had just read which I won't mention to spare any fellow sufferers in AP Lit Summer Reading, but morninghugs have the surprising quality of an ability to make everything better :) [panacea? *looks up*. bam, i'm rackin' them up tonight... 'f only dhruv were around.]

And there was disc, and it was good. Lots o' freshmen. Though I later learned that tech can claim only 2 [1.5, really.] Matt and Jack are good discers. Phil has an awesome shirt ["Carpe Carp"] -- note to world: wear obscurely humorous shirts when meeting new people :)

Glorious weather. Towards the end, but before Rosie responsibly herded us off the field, with the Wind picking up and the Storm building and the Sky dramatically lit...

much too much that i wanted to say. i probably still will. expect disjointed commentary and deep thought in the near future. lots of. but sleep now...IM is fully capable of making me completely exhausted, even were I not already.
