I have a red bicycle here in Lausanne. It's lightweight and functional and says "Swiss Olympic" all over and daily carries me faithfully to and from school or wherever else. I take good care of it by putting it inside when it's raining and always locking it when I leave it anywhere outside. On the other hand, it's a pretty old bike, bike theft

It might actually be a precursor to a theft. The bike gets left for a day with two locks on it, and then the thief returns to the scene with cutting tools. If anyone stops him, he complains about how someone else added a lock to his pretty red bicycle. And look! He even has the key to one of the locks to show that his story is true.
