I've only been intending to write Tsubasa fic re: Kuro and Fye's six months in Yamano for about, oh, two years now, so I've finally got around to finishing something. It's not exactly what I'd call polished, there's no plotline to speak of and I somehow managed to warp the ending into a completely different style, but I figure posting it will get

You. Where have you been all my life.

For the last month I've been fruitlessly searching for the good Kurofai writers; figures that the best ones would be fandom hermits. *g* This is really, really good. It's obvious you know how to write, from the tightly harnessed energy in your fight scene, the ease of your transitions (between "begins" and "teaching someone a language"), Fai's sly little jabs at humor (mischievously taking Kurogane's bed for a trampoline A++). And of course the Kurogane voice is uniformly excellent. Oh argh, I don't know, I just really like this, and your writing in general, it's very solid and intelligent and nonflashy. also, Fai as an overgrown piece of dandelion fluff has to be one of the most apt descriptions of him I've ever read. heh.

I'm going to go read through the rest now. Clicking on your tsubasa fic tag makes me feel like I've found a goldmine. *_*

Apologies for taking so long to respond to this: it's been that sort of fortnight! Really I just wanted to say thank you for leaving such intelligent, thoughtful - not to mention flattering - comments on not just this but several of my Tsubasa fics. It's true I might be a bit of a fandom hermit (which, really, comes from being dissatisfied with most of what I write) but it's always nice to know somebody's read and enjoyed. And it's people like you who make me want to continue writing and (hopefully) improving the quality of my work.

Many thanks yet again - and, as I notice you've posted a rather epic slice of fic yourself, I'm off to bury myself in that for a bit! :)

Wow. You know, I came here re-reading a wonderful fic of rondaview above because I was curious and kinda starved for KuroFay fic, and... all I can say is that this is amazing. Wonderful, so well-written and amazing.

Thanks for your comments; I'm very pleased you enjoyed this! It's one of those stories that I keep intending to rewrite properly (as most of my KuroFay fic is) but I'm glad it works okay even in its current less-than-polished state.
