Otakon 2008: Fraudulent Memberships

One of the few "low-lights" of this year's Otakon was the revelation that one of our Staffers was selling unauthorized memberships. Some of you may have heard rumors about it, but Otakon/Otakorp has released an official statement on the matter here:

Oh, Otakon still is successful and respected. From several points of view, more so than ever before (the industry on both sides of the Pacific love us, for example). And the numbers are quite small in terms of how much he sold and pocketed (and gave back when we caught him), so we didn't take much of a hit financially.

But you're right; it does suck. We all trusted him with an important position (where he was apparently doing a decent job), and he goes and does this. Pisses us off to no end, but we'll survive.

Other than that, I am not sure it would be worth the money to get the lawyer and prosecute him.
