Crawling back into sobriety is an interesting experience if you're detatched enough.

I saw a friend of mine today who told me that tomorrow is her anniversary of being 27 years sober - I never even knew. She said that only once did she feel herself start to want to crash it, so she called her friend, and he came right over and talked with her at length and helped her not want it. She made it through that and she kept going, kept sober, and now it's been 27 years. When she was telling me about it, she looked so proud and happy, you could see it in her face and whole body, she was quietly radiant ( ... )

yeah m8 I too am glad not to be an alc. I empathise with the plight of those who are. But damn I am thankful, to me getting drunk is just a reminder of why I can't stand it.

whisky to me is more of a taste thing, I take a couple sips and I've had my taste of charred barrel wood for the week. it's the wine I have to be careful of, the cheap stuff tastes so damned good.

speaking of which... coffee, that's something I can get into in mass quantities. not the caffeine, actually, just the taste of coffee.
