The Lonely

It was early morning when I made the drive in the drizzle
Completely unaware of my surroundings. 
Dazed by the wipers rhythm slapping.

An ivory white hearse passed in the opposite lane
In my daze I had almost missed it
Guilt ate me as I didn't have time to pull off in respect
I saw one lone car behind with lights on
No other cars in site
