Oh, irony.

So I've spent the better part of seven months agonizing over whether to get an Xbox 360 or a PS3 (as, irritatingly, the fallout pattern of Games What I Happen To Want To Play manages to hit all three of the seventh-gen consoles. Argh), as I already own a Wii. It's basically an issue, for the parentheses'd (is that a word? it is now) reason, of ( Read more... )

While FFXIII is multiplatform, Versus XIII is a PS3 exclusive. I dunno if you want Versus XIII, but there you go.

Yes, VersusXIII is a PS3 exclusive right now. It's still in development, and plenty of games that were supposed to be exclusive to either the Xbox360 or the PS3 have gone multiplatform (Devil May Cry 4, FFXIII) or had ports (Tales of Vesperia) or in one memorable case (Star Ocean) have had a special bonus-content edition released only for the PS3 after launching on the 360 and the developers saying multiple times that they were not planning putting it on the PS3. So.

I vote for the Xbox 360 too. The PS3 has NO backwards compatibility--no PS1, no PS2, no nothin'! Unless, of course, you can hunt down one of the early $600 models on Ebay. Those machines could run all three generations on one box--current PS3s have had this programming stripped and they run PS3 games only. On top of that, the gaming library is pretty small. What you can get the on PS3, you can get on the Xbox with a small number of exceptions. You are paying $300 for a relatively small number of games. The Xbox 360 may have a lot of frat boy gamer crap to dig through, but it has several JRPG exclusives (Lost Odyssey, Eternal Sonata, Tales of Vesperia, Star Ocean, and Infinite Undiscovery) and some solid US-RPGs (Fable II and Mass Effect ( ... )

Anyone that says the PS3 is superior is a nub. A little tiny nubbin with nubsmarts who likes to eat nubblecakes.

With one exception: The Last Guardian.
