We never talk on lj, but this post is a pleasant surprise considering all the "OMG EVIL ISRAEL TERRORISTS HURTING INNOCENT PEACE ACTIVISTS" bullshit that is spewed all over the net before even checking all the facts.
Unfortunately, most times the facts don't even matter. Israel is the stronger side, therefore it's wrong. Always. The Palestinians are weak and therefore right, always. I've seen people bend over backwards to justify the knives and pipes found on that ship. It was all part of the aid supply, apparently. And that soldier? Well, they were right in attacking him! He violently raided their ship (never mind that the IDF is currently delivering everything itself to Gaza).
One last thing- I find it really interesting that out of the 5 or 6 boats in the flotilla, only one refused to be checked, was consequently raided, attacked the soldiers and escalated the violence (the rest of the ships were checked without a fuss and everyone went unharmed). It was also the only ship that had any cameras on it. They wanted to show Israel is a "terrorist" state, and the IDF walked right into that trap.
The camera from this particular clip is from a small IDF naval boat that was right along side of the Mavi Marmara. I don't know if it is IDF procedure to record all ship raiding procedures. I'd have to ask my friend.
