When I was young - very young, very, very young, like, 2 - I was at the YMCA and met another kid my age named Charlie.  We quickly became friends, and our respective families met each other, and became friends on top of that.  We lived fairly close to each other, and more or less grew up as good friends, visiting each others' respective houses ( Read more... )

Not saying good bye is the usual case. Take it easy, and if you need the help, seek it, people will understand.

That's rough. But perhaps, remembering them as they were, instead of just before passing away, may be better. My condoleances, Dippy. And take care of yourself.

My mother never got to say goodbye when her mother passed on from cancer. From the way you describe things, I get the feeling that even without the opportunity to say goodbye to her, Shelly knew you cared about her a great deal and will miss her. If you need someone to prod and chat to, spring me a text and I will hop online as quickly as I can.
