Ehh, I disagree - I read a bit of the EE back when it was a tiny place (I read the Zahn books not too long after they came out) and the bigger it got, the less interesting I find it and now I don't give a fuck for anything bar the films and Zahn's books. Most of the other writers are nowhere near as good as Zahn, so it gets bland and repetetive quickly. Hell, I haven't even bothered to read the newest Zahn one even though I've owned a copy for about a year.
You might like Shadows Of The Empire - either the book or the comic. That's really good and goofy.
Shadows of the Empire is brilliant, but I, Jedi is also quite good, along with the Crystal Star, Spectre of the Past, the Jedi Academy Trilogy, and the Correllian Trilogy being brilliant!!
Also, the pre movie histories for Han Solo (The Paradise Snare, The Hutt Gambit, the Han Solo Adventures collection [three books in one], and Rebel Dawn) and Lando (The Lando Calrissian Adventures) are GODLY! Probably my favorite books out of all of them :D
Alot of the other books really aern't that brilliant, but they do add to the characters and make them more interesting in future books.
The expanded universe is brilliant until the most recent books (the ones starting after the young jedi knight series) the newest books are uber crap ;____;
Personally, not a fan of the books at all. I own "Heir to the Empire" but had to crawl through that! Zahn is the best writer of the lot, but to me it's only relative. (DIE KEVIN J. ANDERSON!)
