Summary: Why he betrayed you? Were you not enough for him? If you couldn’t have him, then neither could others.
You watched his movements like a hawk, mesmerised on how he didn’t stumble upon his feet for the whole morning, zipping up his jacket and toeing his shoes on gracefully. “I’m going now. Bye.” You didn’t even get the chance to kiss him goodbye when he brushed past you like the wind, a hint of blush on his cheeks, maybe from excitement or the hectic morning. “Drive carefully!” you shouted to the man in the driveway who waved you off.
Jaejoong, your boyfriend for one and half year, had gotten accepted for a new job in Seoul, no longer a bartender. You sighed gratefully. Not that you didn’t believe him, it’s just that sometimes, he could get out of hand. You closed the door and skipped to your shared room, getting ready for your own work shift that would start in another hour.
“Hey, I saw Jaejoong with another man, didn’t you say he is your boyfriend?” a friend slipped into the vacant chair next to you, immediately giving you her special one-arm hug. “He still is. Why?” Your friend shrugged nonchalantly, brushing wet hair of her sweaty forehead. “I saw him with a handsome man somewhere in Seoul yesterday. Seems too close if I must say.” She poked your side playfully when you gave her your ultimate stink eyes. “You said yourself that he fooled around with some guys before you became official, didn’t you? I’m just worried of you.” You frowned when she just wouldn’t stop crapping about your Jaejoong. “Might be his friend, you know. You can’t expect him to avoid every man who tried to be friends just because he was once gay.” Your friend tugged at your shirt playfully, shoving a spoonful of ice cream into your mouth, apologized for her nosy self. “But seriously, you need to get that stick of your ass, noona. No pun intended.” She grinned mischievously. You shoved her off her chair.
You tried to shrug off those ugly thoughts of your mind when Jaejoong kept on arrived home in the middle of the nights without fail, but those thoughts kept on surfacing when he brushed off your efforts to sleep together. “I’m tired. Can we do this later?” and he slept like a log through the night, hogging the blanket to himself as if you would pounce on him on his sleep.
You sent him off to work every morning without fail, waving to the retreating car in the driveway, smiling like a satisfied housewife when emotionally you felt like crap. You sighed, it was your anniversary and yet your boyfriend just stumbled of to work without even giving a simple peck.
You stumbled upon Jaejoong and his handsome friend in a coffee shop when you accidentally stood behind them in the same line. You noticed that your boyfriend paled when he met your gaze on his. His gorgeous friend smiled kindly at you when Jaejoong introduced you to him. “Hello, I’m Yunho, Jung Yunho; Jaejoongie’s friend from the work place.” He offered you his hand, and you noticed how his other hand curled at the side of your boyfriend’s back and how good the affectionate name rolled off his tongue was. You shook the man’s offered hand and gave him a polite smile. Yunho’s fingers were lean and slender, the opposite of Jaejoong’s short and chubby ones. Yunho being the gentleman he was, ordered for the three, for them and for you too. “One Iced Americano, Iced Latte and ..” he trailed off unsurely and looked at you, “Hot Mocha.”
That night, you cooked his favorite dish, kimchi jigae, but he didn’t come back home. You slept at 3 in the morning waiting for him. As you were about to call the police the next morning because he didn’t pick up his phone, Jaejoong trudged into the house smelling of beers and cologne, and you noticed how his work shirt crumpled messily before he slumped onto the couch and snored almost immediately. You stared at your boyfriend’s face and sighed. Placing a pill and a glass of water for him later, you went to work with a heavy heart.
You inserted your key into the keyhole and toed your shoes off, and that was when you noticed a pair of foreign shoes on the shoe rack, the size almost the same as Jaejoong’s feet. Your feet brought you into the living room in haste, expecting a guest when Yunho’s figure came into your sight. The taller male was fussing over your boyfriend who was lying on the couch, looking deathly pale. Breath hitching, you immediately dropped your groceries bag and ran to your man. “What happened?” you asked as you grasped Jaejoong’s hand into your own. “Just a light fever, but he passed out on me though.” Yunho chuckled lightly, his fingers kneading Jaejoong’s forehead softly, and you noticed how your boyfriend leaned into Yunho. At midnight, Yunho bid goodbye before whispering some lulling words into Jaejoong’s ears that you couldn’t help but felt twinge of jealously.
If you needed love
Well then ask for love
Could have given love
Now I’m taking love
And it’s not my fault
Cause you both deserve
What is coming now
So don’t say a word
Would have bled to make you happy
You didn't need to treat me that way
And now you beat me at my own game
And now I find you sleeping soundly
And your lovers screaming loudly
Hear a sound and hit the ground ~♬
Hugging the gift you bought from Japan on your chest, you pushed the door to your shared bedroom slowly, avoiding the slightest sound possible, your jaw hurt from the never ending grin you wore on your face. It broke your heart when the sight that welcomed you back from your 3 days trip to Japan was two naked men tangled on your very own bed, limbs wrapped around each other like they owned the bed. You left the room and went to the mini library in at the corner of the house, a place where Jaejoong never stepped into ever since he moved into the house, it was always you who read in the room, never Jaejoong. You pulled out something you meant to tell Jaejoong for the sake of both of your safety, but now it was useful. Seemed like you needed to use it to protect your heart. You choked out a strangled laugh. They didn’t even budge from the bed, too engrossed in each other to notice your presence. As you lifted the gun you inherited from your dad, both of them snapped their heads towards you, eyes bulging as you pointed the gun on Yunho. Jaejoong whimpered, shaking his head frantically and crying out a no no no, please don’t hurt him. You laughed hysterically, your boyfriend still didn’t know, did he? He still didn’t know that you meant to pull the trigger twice, not once. Never once.
You pulled the trigger once, twice and it was all blood, blood, blood.
I'm so sorry darling
Did I do the wrong thing?
Oh, what was I thinking?
Is his heart still beating? ~♬
They should not exist in the first place, shouldn’t they? It is always all about you, never them. You are the one who should be happy, not Yunho. Jaejoong is forever yours, never his.
