Sewing makes me happy like nothing else can. If I could just sit and sew for a couple weeks that would be awesome.
Bought some applique stuff from Michaels today, testing it out on my current Sakura costume and also on some fabric that I hope to use for
another one of her outfits. I really hope it works out. Supposedly it can be washed, so that should mean that it will hold. If not I'm going to try this
Iron on adhesive. Again, supposedly it can be washed, so we shall see.
Michaels is having an awesome sale for beads. Bought 4 strands for $13 instead of $21~
On my Sakura costume I have the hoop skirt, corset, and petticoat done. Working on the top of the dress. This weekend was spent on finishing the patterns for it. The sleeves and shoulder covers are all cut out. As long as the pieces don't fray like crazy before I can put a decorative stitch on the edges to finish it, everything will be okay. Have some interfacing to help stabilize that, otherwise the stitching would just fray off and that would be very sad. Scalloped edges suck. After that I will cut out the skirt and work on those scalloped edges... Hopefully I can get this all done by the end of December. Which is manageable. :)
I would love to do a photoshoot of this dress this winter. With snow. Especially since that's the setting Sakura is in for this dress. Botanical Gardens I love how convenient you are~ Just need to get some awesome friends to go with me and take the pictures...
I keep forgetting to buy a wig for this damn costume. There was a saved link floating in my internet browser but after I put W7 on my computer all that kinda disappeared. I need to find my back up FF links...
SO PRETTY Okay, kinda squeeing a lot over my Lolita costume on cosplay.com because it has 33 views!
